Residents of Donelson will now be able to enjoy Nashville hot chicken closer to home. Party Fowl, the popular hot chicken restaurant in the Gulch, has announced plans to expand and open a second location at 2620 Lebanon Pike in the spring of 2018.

The former Johnson’s Discount Furniture building offers two stories and more than 13,000 square feet that the restaurant will renovate to fit its needs. Starting construction as soon as possible, Party Fowl will spend the next year converting the space to its custom specifications.

“I have a lot of heart and soul invested in Donelson and am very excited to bring Party Fowl to the community,” says Party Fowl operating owner, Austin Smith. “Growing up in the area made me appreciate what it has to offer, and when the opportunity arose to acquire this building in such a central location, I just couldn’t pass it up. We are thrilled to be a part of the revitalization of the downtown area.”

Guests can expect a much larger space that offers two outdoor dining patios, an upstairs dining area called “The Coop” which will boast sports bar vibes and an upstairs event space, including a private patio, that can hold up to 300 people. Also bigger is the amount of parking available – there will be 20 spots on site and 48 more dedicated spots at 2626 Old Lebanon Road. The Donelson property will also house Party Fowl’s corporate offices and a commissary kitchen for both locations.

Smith will be at the helm of both restaurants as operating owner, working closely with Bart Pickens as corporate chef and Tiffany Thompson as corporate operations manager. The menu will stay consistent between the two locations, offering the community of Donelson elevated Nashville-hot chicken dishes, a highly-touted brunch menu, craft cocktails and local brews.

Chef Pickens will bring his creative spins on hot chicken and the classics to the second location, such as the Hot Chicken B&B (boneless chicken breast on Texas Toast with beignets coated with bourbon glaze), Beer Butt Chicken (whole smoked “beer butt” chicken served with Alabama white BBQ sauce), Jack Daniels Lacquered Lollipops (chicken lollipops lacquered in Jack Daniels BBQ), Hot Chicken and Stuffed French Toast (thick-cut, house-made cinnamon brioche stuffed with apples and bourbon cream cheese, dipped in orange custard, skillet fried and served with hot chicken), Brunch for Two (a 55-ounce Bloody Mary topped with two fried Cornish game hens, Scotch eggs and fried okra) and more.

Party Fowl’s new building is owned by SmartSpace, an affiliated partnership based in Donelson and the area’s largest property-owning landlord. The group specializes in repurposing structures and maintains sustainable and green practices. “We are excited to kick off the Donelson Town Center redevelopment effort by welcoming Austin Smith and Party Fowl to the community,” says Floyd Shechter, president of SmartSpace.

"SmartSpace's investment in Donelson has brought jobs and opportunity like no other. Party Fowl is a great next step in realizing the vision of Downtown Donelson and the community is excited to support this fantastic restaurant,” says Metro Councilman Jeff Syracuse.

At the new location, Party Fowl plans to offer its full menu Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
